Der indische Landwirtschaftsminister Shivraj Singh Chouhan besuchte am Donnerstag den Distrikt Ayodhya inmitten der Kontroverse um Spenden für den Ram-Tempel.

Chouhan traf mit etwa einem Dutzend hochrangiger Ministeriumsmitarbeiter aus Delhi in Lucknow ein und traf sich mit dem Ministerpräsidenten von Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath. Er tauschte sich mit Landwirten aus und beteiligte sich an Aktivitäten zum Reisanbau. Der Minister besuchte weder die Stadt Ayodhya noch den Ram-Tempel und kehrte am selben Abend nach Delhi zurück. Er wies einige Beamte an, für eine am Freitag geplante Alumni-Veranstaltung nach Pantnagar in Uttarakhand weiterzureisen. Die Beamten legten die Reise nach Pantnagar am Abend in einer sechsstündigen Autofahrt zurück.
