Boliden recibe el permiso para continuar las operaciones en la mina Aitik

El Tribunal de Tierras y Medio Ambiente concedió el lunes a Boliden un permiso para continuar y ampliar las operaciones en la mina Aitik, a las afueras de Gällivare.

El permiso abarca la extracción y el procesamiento de hasta 45 millones de toneladas de mineral al año. Incluye medidas como la elevación de presas y la ampliación de una instalación de almacenamiento de relaves.

El tribunal impuso un gran número de condiciones relativas a las emisiones al agua y al aire, al ruido, al control del polvo y a la consideración hacia el pastoreo de renos. Boliden opera la mina desde 1968.

El caso no está totalmente cerrado. Boliden debe llevar a cabo más investigaciones sobre determinadas cuestiones. La garantía financiera para la remediación se fijó en aproximadamente 6.000 millones de coronas.
