Glen Schofield anuncia su retiro tras 35 años de carrera

Glen Schofield, cocreador de Dead Space y antiguo cofundador de Sledgehammer Games, ha anunciado su retiro del desarrollo de videojuegos en un emotivo video publicado en LinkedIn.

Schofield señaló que la decisión llega después de más de 35 años creando y dirigiendo videojuegos.

"Tras 35 años creando y dirigiendo juegos, y dirigiendo equipos, es momento de retirarme oficialmente del trabajo diario", declaró en el video.

Agradeció a EA por la oportunidad de crear Dead Space, a Activision por tres títulos de Call of Duty, a su familia, incluida su esposa Barb, y a los fans que ofrecieron sus comentarios a lo largo de los años. Schofield también expresó optimismo sobre el futuro de la industria a pesar de los desafíos actuales.

Su proyecto importante más reciente fue The Callisto Protocol en 2022. En 2023 dejó el estudio que fundó y más tarde presentó sin éxito a EA una propuesta para un cuarto juego de Dead Space.
