Organizaciones denuncian carretera ilegal cerca del Tren Maya en Tulum

Sélvame MX y el Centro Mexicano de Derecho Ambiental presentaron una denuncia por la construcción de una carretera de 16 kilómetros ejecutada por el Ejército en Tulum. La obra se ubica sobre el Sistema Sac Actun, uno de los acuíferos más grandes del mundo.

Las organizaciones señalaron que la carretera atraviesa selva virgen sin servir a comunidades locales ni mejorar la movilidad hacia Chetumal o Tulum. Según el comunicado, su propósito real es facilitar la especulación inmobiliaria.

Pepe Tiburón, representante de Sélvame MX, afirmó que la vía representa “una cicatriz de 16 kilómetros abierta en selva virgen con el único propósito de detonar la especulación inmobiliaria”. Las agrupaciones alertaron sobre riesgos irreversibles por el terreno kárstico de la península.

El proyecto se suma a otras obras vinculadas al Tren Maya que ya han generado impactos en los cenotes y la fragmentación del ecosistema regional, indicaron los denunciantes.
