La Municipalidad de Santiago reinauguró la piscina olímpica temperada del Parque O’Higgins tras una inversión de más de 1.500 millones de pesos. El recinto beneficiará a más de 12.000 usuarios mensuales.

La intervención duró 14 semanas y incluyó mejoras en los sistemas de climatización, filtrado, iluminación y baños. También se incorporó tecnología digital para gestionar accesos.

El alcalde Mario Desbordes señaló que se invirtieron más de 1.500 millones de pesos para renovar la infraestructura. A la ceremonia asistieron el subsecretario de Deporte Andrés Otero, el presidente de la Cámara de Diputados Jorge Alessandri y la nadadora Eliana Busch, quien recibió una placa en su honor.

Otero destacó que la inversión en deporte reducirá futuras necesidades hospitalarias. Durante el evento, Desbordes anunció un proyecto futuro para un megadeportivo en los terrenos de Fantasilandia.
