Kenya Railways va acheter 24 compresseurs d'air pour trains dans le cadre d'un projet financé par la Banque mondiale

La Kenya Railways Corporation a lancé un appel d'offres pour l'achat de 24 compresseurs d'air destinés à ses autorails (Diesel Multiple Unit), dans le cadre d'une initiative soutenue par la Banque mondiale visant à améliorer les services ferroviaires de banlieue à Nairobi.

L'appel d'offres a été annoncé le 12 mai dans le cadre du projet d'amélioration de la mobilité urbaine au Kenya. Il sollicite des fournisseurs du monde entier par le biais d'un appel d'offres international.

Les compresseurs alimenteront des fonctions essentielles du train, notamment les freins, les portes, les essuie-glaces et les avertisseurs sonores. Ils doivent maintenir des niveaux de pression sûrs pour garantir la fiabilité des opérations.

Toutes les unités doivent être livrées aux ateliers centraux de Kenya Railways à Nairobi pour être installées sur la flotte existante. Les soumissions exigent une garantie de 1,5 million de shillings kenyans et doivent parvenir au plus tard le 11 juin 2026.

Cette démarche fait suite à l'annulation d'un appel d'offres similaire de la Banque mondiale en avril. Le processus respecte les règles de passation des marchés de la banque pour les projets d'investissement.
