SpaceX réussit globalement le premier vol du Starship V3

SpaceX a lancé vendredi son nouveau modèle de fusée Starship lors d'un premier vol d'essai depuis le sud du Texas, réalisant un amerrissage réussi dans l'océan Indien après plus d'une heure de vol.

Le véhicule de 124 mètres de haut a décollé à 17h30 (heure avancée du Centre) depuis la base de lancement Starbase et a atteint une altitude maximale de 195 kilomètres. Il a déployé 20 satellites Starlink factices et a fait la démonstration d'un système de charge utile amélioré avant d'effectuer sa rentrée atmosphérique et d'atteindre sa cible, son bouclier thermique et ses volets ayant fonctionné correctement tout au long de la descente.
