법무부는 6일 선수 2명이 익사한 사건과 관련해 진행 중인 조사의 일환으로 아테네오 블루 이글스의 전 감독 탭 볼드윈과 팀 관계자 4명에 대해 출입국 조회 통보를 내렸다고 밝혔다.
프레데릭 비다 법무장관은 이번 조치가 볼드윈 전 감독을 비롯해 전 팀 매니저 크리스토퍼 킴포, 코치진인 레이날도 자신토 주니어, 딘 카스타뇨, 산드로 소리아노를 대상으로 한다고 전했다.
비다 장관은 기자회견에서 "이번 조치는 수사가 진행되는 동안 해당 인물들이 해외로 출국하려 할 경우 당국에 알리기 위한 목적일 뿐, 그 자체로 여행 제한이나 법적 책임이 확정된 것은 아니다"라고 설명했다.
이번 명령은 지난 6월 8일 아우로라주에서 진행된 팀 빌딩 활동 중 선수인 르네 바터보니와 추쿠에메카 디바인 아딜리가 사망한 사건에 따른 것이다. 범죄수사탐지국(CIDG)은 해당 사건이 단순 사고가 아니며, 리조트에서 약 700미터 떨어진 곳에서 발생했다고 밝혔다.
