한국 주식시장이 15일 AI 관련 대형주 랠리에 힘입어 사상 처음으로 KOSPI 지수 8,000선을 돌파했다.
개장 직후 소폭 하락 출발한 KOSPI는 오전 9시 15분 현재 전일 대비 19.99포인트(0.25%) 오른 8,001.4을 기록하며 8,000선을 넘어섰다. 이는 지난 6일 7,000선을 돌파한 지 불과 1주일여 만이다.
지난밤 미국 증시에서 AI 관련 종목인 엔비디아, 브로드컴, TSMC 등이 강세를 보인 가운데 트럼프 미국 대통령과 시진핑 중국 국가주석의 베이징 정상회담 결과가 시장 심리를 뒷받침했다. 삼성전자와 SK하이닉스 등 반도체주가 지수를 견인했다.
외국인 매도세가 이어졌으나 개인과 기관이 매수에 나서며 지수를 끌어올렸다. 원·달러 환율은 1,496.4원으로 전일 대비 5.4원 하락했다.
