미국, 한국에 JDAM 정밀폭탄 잠재 판매 승인

미국 정부가 한국에 JDAM 정밀폭탄과 관련 장비의 잠재 판매를 승인했다고 국무부가 밝혔다.

이번 잠재 판매는 정부 간 군사판매 방식으로 진행되며 비용은 1억 600만 달러로 추정된다. 의회 통지와 검토가 필요하다.

한국은 KMU-557 JDAM 꼬리 키트 708개, KMU-572 JDAM 유도 세트 58개와 기타 지원 장비를 요청했다. 주요 계약사는 버지니아주 알링턴에 위치한 보잉사다.

국무부는 “이번 제안 판매는 대한민국의 현재와 미래 위협 대응 능력을 개선하고 지역 내 핵심 방공 능력을 확대하며 미군과의 상호운용성을 보장할 것”이라고 밝혔다.
