Demanda por energia cresceu 6% em abril impulsionada pela indústria de transformação

A demanda por eletricidade na Colômbia subiu 6,07% em abril de 2026 em comparação com o mesmo mês do ano passado, atingindo 7.217,2 gigawatts-hora, de acordo com dados da XM.

A operadora de mercado XM informou que o aumento foi impulsionado principalmente pelas indústrias de transformação, que demandaram 843,4 gigawatts-hora, um aumento de 37,9% em relação a abril de 2025. O setor de mineração e extração também contribuiu com 747,3 gigawatts-hora, um crescimento de 33,6% na comparação anual.

Por região, Chocó registrou o maior crescimento, com 10,59%. Foi seguido por Tolima, Huila e Caquetá com 7,64%, e Oriente com 7,39%. A região do Caribe liderou o consumo total com 2.094,26 gigawatts-hora, seguida pelo Centro com 1.714,55 gigawatts-hora.

O consumo residencial e de pequenas empresas cresceu 5,46%, enquanto o da indústria e comércio subiu 9%. Os dias úteis foram responsáveis pela maior demanda, com 4.985,9 gigawatts-hora.
