392 ኪሎ ሜትር የሚሸፍነው የባቡር መንገድ ፕሮጀክቱ 2007 ዓ.ም ተጀምሮ በ2012 ዓ.ም ይጠናቀቃል ተብሎ የነበረ ቢሆንም በሰሜኑ ጦርነት በደረሰበት ውድመት እና ዘረፋ ምክንያት ፕሮጀክቱ ተስተጓጉሎ ቆይቷል።
