Der Stadtrat von Cali hat am Donnerstag Luz Arianne Zúñiga Nazareno zur amtierenden Generalkontrolleurin gewählt. Ziel dieser Entscheidung ist es, die Kontinuität in der Kontrollbehörde sicherzustellen, während das Verfahren zur Ernennung eines ständigen Amtsträgers voranschreitet.

Die Wahl fand während einer regulären Plenarsitzung des Rates als Reaktion auf eine Anordnung des Staatsrates statt. Einundzwanzig Ratsmitglieder stimmten ab, wobei Zúñiga Nazareno 14 Stimmen erhielt. Die übrigen Stimmen entfielen auf die anderen vier Kandidaten.

Zúñiga Nazareno, eine Juristin und lizenzierte Bildungsverwalterin, war bereits interimistisch tätig. Nach ihrer Wahl erklärte sie, dass sie sich weiterhin auf die fiskalische Aufsicht und öffentliche Vergabeverfahren konzentrieren werde, die an den Bedürfnissen der Bürger ausgerichtet sind.

Ratspräsidentin Daniella Plaza Saldarriaga merkte an, dass die Lebensläufe der Kandidaten geprüft wurden und vor der abschließenden Abstimmung sechs Bewerbungen eingingen.
