Contraloría entscheidet, dass Steinert ihre Kompetenzen überschritten hat

Die Contraloría General de la República kam zu dem Schluss, dass die ehemalige Sicherheitsministerin Trinidad Steinert ihre Befugnisse überschritten hat, indem sie vertrauliche Informationen der PDI über Personal im Zusammenhang mit einer strafrechtlichen Untersuchung anforderte.

Der kürzlich veröffentlichte Beschluss besagt, dass Steinert zwei Tage nach ihrem Amtsantritt handelte, indem sie über ein vertrauliches offizielles Schreiben Daten zu einer Antidrogen- und Organisierte-Kriminalitäts-Brigade anforderte. Die Contraloría wies darauf hin, dass diese Anfrage eine laufende strafrechtliche Untersuchung gefährden könnte und trotz der Befugnisse gemäß Artikel 3 des Gesetzes 21.730 gegen rechtliche Beschränkungen verstößt.

Die Aufsichtsbehörde betonte zudem eine Enthaltungspflicht aufgrund eines Interessenkonflikts, der aus Steinerts früherer Tätigkeit als Regionalstaatsanwältin in Tarapacá resultierte. Die Stellungnahme erfolgt auf eine Anfrage von zwei Parlamentariern nach der Kontroverse, die durch die Entlassung des Generalpräfekten der PDI ausgelöst wurde.

Unabhängig davon bestätigte Außenminister Francisco Pérez Mackenna, dass eine mögliche Position für Steinert als Attaché an der chilenischen Botschaft in Peru geprüft wird, stellte jedoch klar, dass es keine konkrete Entscheidung gebe und die Angelegenheit nicht mit Präsident José Antonio Kast besprochen worden sei.
