FIA-Präsident schlägt Aufhebung der Amtszeitbeschränkung vor

FIA-Präsident Mohammed Ben Sulayem hat vorgeschlagen, die auf zwölf Jahre begrenzte Amtszeit für den Präsidenten aufzuheben. Im Falle einer Zustimmung würde es ihm die Änderung ermöglichen, unbegrenzt im Amt zu bleiben.

FIA-Präsident Mohammed Ben Sulayem hat den Vorschlag eingebracht, Artikel 20.10 der Statuten des Verbandes aufzuheben. Dieser Artikel beschränkt die Präsidentschaft derzeit auf maximal drei Amtszeiten beziehungsweise insgesamt zwölf Jahre, unabhängig davon, ob diese aufeinanderfolgen. Ben Sulayem befindet sich in seiner zweiten Amtszeit, nachdem er bei der Wahl im vergangenen Jahr ohne Gegenkandidaten angetreten war.
