Sally Rooney wählt BDS-konformen Verlag für die hebräische Übersetzung von Intermezzo

Die irische Autorin Sally Rooney wird eine hebräische Ausgabe ihres Romans Intermezzo bei November Books veröffentlichen, einem Verlag, der die palästinensische Boykott-, Desinvestitions- und Sanktionsbewegung (BDS) unterstützt.

Rooney ließ ihre ersten beiden Romane zuvor von Modan, einem israelischen Verlag, ins Hebräische übersetzen. Sie lehnte weitere Zusammenarbeiten ab, nachdem sie von den Verbindungen des Unternehmens zum israelischen Militär erfahren hatte. November Books übernimmt nun die Übersetzung von Intermezzo, um die Bedingungen der BDS-Bewegung zu erfüllen. Rooneys Bücher wurden bisher in mehr als 40 Sprachen übersetzt.
