Magistrados aceitam cargos no conselho de ética judicial

Quatro magistrados escolhidos por sorteio eletrônico aceitaram assentos no Conselho de Ética Judicial. O órgão foi criado após a crise do caso Audio e iniciará os trabalhos em 1º de julho.

Após o sorteio eletrônico de 29 de abril, os magistrados Omar Astudillo, Marisol Ponce, Sergio Pizarro e Jessica Bascuñán aceitaram seus cargos. Eles formam a composição judicial inicial de quatro membros do conselho.

O órgão foi criado em resposta a escândalos como o caso Audio, que envolveu a ex-ministra da Suprema Corte, Ángela Vivanco. Seu Código de Ética, aprovado em novembro sob a gestão da ministra Adelita Ravanales, estabeleceu esta entidade preventiva e consultiva.

O quinto membro será um acadêmico em filosofia ou ética aplicada. Os quatro membros judiciais selecionarão essa pessoa por maioria simples após um período de nomeação aberta estendido às universidades do Cruch.

O conselho deve estar totalmente constituído até junho, no mais tardar. Suas funções começarão oficialmente em 1º de julho, com o objetivo de resolver consultas sobre conduta judicial e promover padrões de probidade.
