Am Dienstag, den 28. April 2026, befasste sich die Kammer von Richterin Swarana Kanta Sharma am High Court in Delhi mit dem Antrag des Kongressabgeordneten Karti Chidambaram auf Aufhebung eines Ermittlungsverfahrens der CBI.

Das Ermittlungsverfahren wirft Chidambaram vor, einem Unternehmen für alkoholische Getränke dabei geholfen zu haben, ein Verbot für den zollfreien Verkauf seines Whiskys zu umgehen. Richterin Sharma zog sich von der Anhörung zurück und ordnete an: „Vor einer anderen Kammer verhandeln.“
