An der Meda Welabu University hat die erste nationale Landwirtschaftsforschungskonferenz begonnen. Landwirte kamen zusammen, um ihre Erfahrungen und ihr indigenes Wissen auszutauschen.

Die Konferenz ermöglicht es Landwirten, Erfahrungen aus ihrem landwirtschaftlichen Alltag zu teilen und bewährte lokale Praktiken vorzustellen. Sie dient zudem als Forum, um Herausforderungen zu diskutieren und Anregungen von Wissenschaftlern der Universität zu erhalten.

Der Präsident der Universität, Dr. Birhanemeskel Tena, erklärte, dass Landwirte durch Fleiß und Qualität den Wohlstand Äthiopiens sichern. Er merkte an, dass die Veranstaltung Wissen aus der Praxis konsolidiert und einen Ideenaustausch zwischen den Landwirten untereinander ermöglicht.

Die Teilnehmer betonten, dass Landwirte trotz unzureichender technischer Versorgung weiterhin einen Beitrag zur Entwicklung der Viehzucht und des Ackerbaus leisten.
