Build a Rocket Boy visé par des poursuites concernant un logiciel de surveillance

Des employés du studio Build a Rocket Boy, développeur de MindsEye, représentés par le syndicat IWGB Game Workers Union, ont engagé des poursuites judiciaires alléguant l'installation, à leur insu, du logiciel de surveillance intrusif Teramind sur leurs appareils professionnels. Le syndicat affirme que ce logiciel a enfreint les lois sur la protection des données en enregistrant les employés à leur domicile. Cette action fait suite à une plainte déposée en mars par 40 membres du personnel ainsi qu'à des réclamations distinctes concernant des licenciements prévus en 2025.

L'Independent Workers’ Union of Great Britain (IWGB) a annoncé le 21 avril que des salariés de Build a Rocket Boy (BARB) ont entamé une procédure pour violation de la protection des données. La direction avait installé Teramind, décrit par le syndicat comme dépassant les limites d'une surveillance légitime en capturant des images des employés à leur domicile sans leur consentement. L'entreprise a retiré le logiciel après une plainte collective mais a refusé de fournir des détails sur les données collectées, leur utilisation et les raisons de cette installation, selon l'IWGB.
