Mandiri Institute: penguatan lapangan kerja berkualitas kunci resiliensi kelas menengah

Mandiri Institute menilai penguatan kualitas lapangan kerja mendesak untuk menjaga resiliensi kelas menengah transisi di Indonesia. Analisis mereka menunjukkan 86 juta penduduk tergolong kelompok ini yang rentan terhadap guncangan ekonomi. Chief Economist Andry Asmoro menekankan perlunya peningkatan produktivitas pekerja.

Resiliensi ekonomi Indonesia tetap terjaga berkat konsumsi rumah tangga yang menyumbang 54 persen terhadap PDB, menjadi bantalan terhadap guncangan eksternal.

Mandiri Institute mencatat pergeseran demografi signifikan, dengan 86 juta orang atau sepertiga penduduk masuk kelas menengah transisi, mencakup Upper Aspiring Middle Class dan Lower Middle Class. Data 2019-2025 menunjukkan penurunan Lower MC lebih dari 11 juta orang, Upper AMC stagnan, sementara Middle MC dan Upper MC naik 416 ribu orang.

"Tantangan berikutnya memastikan masyarakat di zona transisi memiliki daya dorong cukup untuk terus naik ke level ekonomi yang lebih mapan secara berkelanjutan," ujar Andry Asmoro, Chief Economist Bank Mandiri. Lebih dari 50 persen kelompok transisi bekerja di sektor formal, tapi tertinggal 28 poin persen dari kelas menengah mapan, membatasi akumulasi aset.

Pengeluaran mereka didominasi kebutuhan primer seperti mobilitas (20 persen), perumahan (13 persen), dan tagihan (10 persen), dengan kepemilikan aset likuid hanya 21 persen pada Upper AMC. Estimasi menunjukkan lebih dari 2 juta orang siap naik kelas jika didukung pekerjaan berkualitas.

"Perluasan lapangan kerja harus diimbangi upaya peningkatan produktivitas pekerja, yang menjadi kunci utama untuk menaikkan pendapatan secara riil," tambah Asmoro. Bank Mandiri berkomitmen melalui pembiayaan inklusif dan literasi keuangan.
