Menteri pigai: pelarangan nobar film harus lewat keputusan pengadilan

Menteri Hak Asasi Manusia Natalius Pigai menegaskan bahwa pelarangan pemutaran atau nobar film tidak boleh dilakukan secara sepihak tanpa dasar hukum dan putusan pengadilan.

Pernyataan tersebut disampaikan Pigai di Jakarta saat merespons polemik pelarangan nonton bareng film dokumenter 'Pesta Babi' di sejumlah daerah dan kampus.

Menurut Pigai, pembatasan terhadap karya film hanya dapat dilakukan melalui mekanisme hukum yang diatur undang-undang. Ia menegaskan bahwa kelompok atau individu tanpa otoritas hukum tidak berhak melarang pemutaran film di ruang publik.

"Film itu hanya boleh dilarang menurut keputusan pengadilan, menurut undang-undang," kata Pigai. Ia menambahkan bahwa pihak yang merasa dirugikan sebaiknya melakukan klarifikasi atau membuat film baru, bukan melakukan pelarangan.

Pigai juga menyatakan bahwa karya film merupakan ekspresi daya cipta masyarakat yang harus dihormati sebagai bagian dari kebebasan berekspresi dalam negara demokrasi.
