안규백 국방부 장관이 30일 싱가포르에서 필리핀과 노르웨이 국방장관을 만나 국방 및 방위산업 협력 확대를 논의했다.
회담은 아시아 안보 정상회의로 알려진 샹그릴라 대화 기간 중 진행됐다. 안 장관은 필리핀 국방장관 힐베르토 테오도로와 만나 양국 국방 당국 간 교류를 바탕으로 협력 분야를 발굴하기로 했다. 그는 한국 방산업체들이 필리핀 군 현대화 사업에 참여할 수 있도록 관심을 요청했다.
노르웨이 국방장관 토레 산드빅과의 회담에서는 한화에어로스페이스가 올해 초 Chunmoo 다연장로켓 시스템 공급 계약을 따낸 점을 언급하며 파트너십을 강화하기로 했다. 안 장관은 두 장관에게 북한의 핵·미사일 위협과 러시아와의 밀착이 지역 안보를 위협한다며 서울의 대북 평화 노력에 지지를 요청했다.
안 장관은 또한 네덜란드 국방장관 딜란 예실고즈-제게리우스와 단독 회담을 갖고 해양 안보, 국방 과학기술, 군사 인공지능 분야에서 협력을 발전시키기로 했다.
