Entwickler bei Double Fine beantragen Gründung einer Gewerkschaft bei Microsoft

Mitarbeiter des zu Microsoft gehörenden Spielestudios Double Fine haben am 7. Mai beim National Labor Relations Board einen Antrag auf Gründung einer Gewerkschaft eingereicht. Die Gruppe von 42 Voll- und Teilzeitbeschäftigten strebt sowohl eine Wahl als auch eine freiwillige Anerkennung durch das Unternehmen an. Die Initiative wird von der Communications Workers of America unterstützt.

Die Ankündigung erfolgte kurz nach der Veröffentlichung des neuesten Spiels des Studios, Kiln, das im Game Pass erschienen ist. Double Fine ist für Titel wie Psychonauts bekannt und wurde 2018 von Microsoft übernommen. Der Antrag markiert die erste gewerkschaftliche Organisierung in einem eigenständigen Xbox-Studio unter der neuen CEO Asha Sharma.
