Moriarty, ehemaliger IGN-Redakteur und Mitbegründer von Kinda Funny Games, postete am 18. Mai auf X, dass sein Konto im Zuge einer Reihe von Angriffen auf zufällige und bekannte Nutzer gehackt wurde. Er merkte an, dass das Konto dazu missbraucht wurde, dem befreundeten Podcaster Dustin Furman eine Drohnachricht mit dem Inhalt „Du bist der Nächste“ zu senden. Sony schätzte die Wiederherstellungszeit zunächst auf bis zu drei Wochen, stellte den Zugriff jedoch schneller wieder her, nachdem Moriarty interne Kontakte bei dem Unternehmen kontaktiert hatte.
