古物諮詢委員會支持將廟宇與清真寺列為法定古蹟

香港古物諮詢委員會已支持將灣仔洪聖古廟及赤柱清真寺列為法定古蹟。

古物諮詢委員會在週四的會議上提出了此項建議。這兩座建築目前均被評為一級歷史建築。委員會主席許焯權指出,會上已達成共識,儘管有一名成員質疑該清真寺是否符合升格標準。共有二十四名成員出席會議,大多數成員認同該地點反映了少數群體在香港的歷史足跡。赤柱清真寺建於1936年至1937年間,是香港僅存的兩座戰前伊斯蘭建築之一,也是唯一座落於監獄內的清真寺。委員們亦就公眾參觀清真寺及虛擬實境體驗提出了建議。
