Han tillade: «I get the sense that Embracer has zero ability to do anything with it. I wish things were different. I tried my best to offer a path forward, but they've ghosted me.»  nnEmbracer förvärvade Volition 2018 som del av Koch Media-köpet, och 2022-rebooten var studiens enda projekt under deras ägande mitt i pågående omstruktureringar och personalbyten. Efter rebootens underprestation stängde Embracer Volition 2023. Saber Interactives VD Matt Karch kommenterade rebooten: «They didn't know what they were building. They didn't have any real direction. It couldn't last. And so, who's going to fund them for the next game after that disaster?»  nnDenna utveckling passar in i Embracers mönster av att avbryta projekt, inklusive återlanseringar av Perfect Dark och Deus Ex, samt senaste turbulensen kring Crystal Dynamics Tomb Raider-insatser mitt i ytterligare omstruktureringar.
