Toys for Bob köper sig fria för att återuppliva Spyro-serien

Toys for Bob har köpt loss sig från Microsoft efter år av ägande under Activision Blizzard. Flytten gör att studion kan fokusera på projekt som det nyligen utannonserade Spyro: A Realm Beyond.

Studiochefen för Toys for Bob, Paul Yan, säger att teamet använde Microsofts förvärv av Activision Blizzard som en chans att återta sin kreativa kontroll. Studion lämnade Activision 2024 efter att ha köpt ut sig själva för att undkomma företagets krav på att arbeta med titlar som Warzone, Modern Warfare och Overwatch 2.

Yan uppgav att målet var att "återgå till de spel vi var kända för, och även att bevara det sammansvetsade teamet". Toys for Bob utvecklade tidigare Skylanders, nyare Crash Bandicoot-spel och Spyro the Dragon-titlar.

Oberoendet har lett till utannonseringen av Spyro: A Realm Beyond, vilket markerar en återkomst till studiots rötter inom plattformsspel.
