Toys for Bob ha comprado su independencia a Microsoft tras años bajo la propiedad de Activision Blizzard. El movimiento permite al estudio centrarse en proyectos como el recién anunciado Spyro: A Realm Beyond.

El jefe del estudio Toys for Bob, Paul Yan, señaló que el equipo aprovechó la adquisición de Activision Blizzard por parte de Microsoft como una oportunidad para recuperar el control creativo.
