Världsunikt tåg byter räls mellan Borlänge och Ludvika

Ett kilometerlångt spårbytartåg används just nu för att rusta upp järnvägen mellan Ludvika och Ulvshyttan. Arbetet pågår under fem veckor och kostar runt 400 miljoner kronor.

Runt 200 personer deltar i insatsen där makadam, slipers och räls byts ut samtidigt. Trafikverket använder det världsunika tåget som klarar att byta spår i 200 meter i timmen.

Tågresenärer hänvisas till ersättningstrafik under perioden. Sträckan öppnas delvis för trafik från 1 juni och beräknas vara helt klar i mitten av juni.

Projektet ingår i flera stora satsningar på järnvägen i Dalarna. Andra arbeten pågår mellan Grängesberg och Ställdalen samt mellan Avesta-Krylbo och Uppsala.
