Petro no aspira a reelegirse como presidente

El presidente Gustavo Petro afirmó que no busca la reelección presidencial, prohibida por la Constitución de Colombia, pero no descartó participar en una Asamblea Constituyente para impulsar reformas sociales fallidas en el Congreso.

Durante un evento en la Casa de Nariño sobre el inicio de la remuneración a internos de medicina, el presidente Gustavo Petro Urrego reiteró su compromiso de no aspirar a la reelección. Mencionó como ejemplos las dificultades enfrentadas por su gobierno en las reformas de salud y laboral, donde derechos como la salud y el trabajo digno siguen condicionados. A su juicio, esta falta de garantías plenas fomenta la violencia en el país.

El presidente sostuvo que el verdadero poder constituyente radica en el pueblo, no en los poderes constituidos como el Ejecutivo o el Legislativo. Insistió en que la ciudadanía debe decidir el rumbo de las transformaciones pendientes, destacando la necesidad de eliminar barreras que impiden derechos plenos.
