BRIN kaji teknologi bantalan rel untuk tingkatkan keselamatan kereta

Badan Riset dan Inovasi Nasional (BRIN) mengkaji teknologi bantalan rel berbasis karet komposit guna meningkatkan keamanan transportasi kereta api, sebagai respons atas kecelakaan di Bekasi Timur. Kecelakaan antara kereta Argo Bromo Anggrek dan KRL Commuter Line pada 27 April 2026 menewaskan 15 orang. Wakil Kepala BRIN Amarulla Octavian menyatakan kontribusi lembaganya dalam riset infrastruktur kereta.

Jakarta - Kecelakaan kereta api Argo Bromo Anggrek yang menabrak KRL Commuter Line di Stasiun Bekasi Timur, Jawa Barat, terjadi pada Senin, 27 April 2026 pukul 21.00 WIB. Insiden tersebut mengakibatkan 15 orang meninggal dunia, dengan semua korban telah teridentifikasi di rumah sakit Bekasi dan Jakarta.

Wakil Kepala BRIN Amarulla Octavian menyampaikan hal ini pada Selasa, 28 April 2026 di Jakarta. "Kami telah berkontribusi dalam desain dan riset sistem kereta api, termasuk pada kereta LRT dan kereta di jalur Makassar–Parepare, Sulawesi Selatan. Selain itu, riset juga dilakukan pada material seperti bantalan rel berbasis karet komposit untuk meningkatkan keselamatan dan umur pakai infrastruktur kereta api," katanya.

BRIN juga mengembangkan sistem keamanan lintasan kereta api yang terintegrasi secara otomatis dengan masinis. Selain itu, lembaga ini mengkaji dampak medan magnet dari lokomotif terhadap kendaraan di sekitar lintasan.

Amarulla menekankan pentingnya netralisasi medan magnet yang dihasilkan sistem kelistrikan lokomotif. "Medan magnet yang besar itu dihasilkan oleh kereta api yang mau lewat... ini mungkin perlu kita kaji atau riset bagaimana untuk netralisasi medan magnet di sekitaran lintasan kereta api itu supaya tidak mengganggu lalu lintas mobil yang akan lewat," tuturnya.
