Police have arrested RFTJ, an Iraqi national and ex-siri husband of Dewhinta Anggary—granddaughter of Betawi artist Mpok Nori—suspected of slashing her neck in a rented house in Cipayung, East Jakarta, on the night of March 19, 2026. The suspect confessed, was found with the victim's passport and phone, and faces murder charges. The body was discovered on March 21, 2026, with the arrest following the same day at KM 68 of the Tangerang-Merak Toll Road in Serang, Banten.
Dewhinta Anggary (DA), aged 36-37 and granddaughter of the late Betawi artist Mpok Nori, was found dead on Saturday, March 21, 2026, around 03:00 WIB, in a rented house at Jalan Daman I, RT 008 RW 002, Bambu Apus Village, Cipayung District, East Jakarta. Her mother, initialed B, and sibling discovered the body after no response; the door was locked from inside, and entry was made through an open window. The victim lay lifeless on the floor with a slash wound to the neck, dried blood on the floor and mattress. No robbery signs were evident, as valuables remained.
The murder occurred on Thursday night, March 19, 2026. The suspect, RFTJ, the victim's ex-siri husband and Iraqi national (initially misreported as Iranian), fled after the killing to Bogor and Sukabumi, where he briefly considered suicide but backed out. He then headed randomly toward Sumatra without contacts and was apprehended asleep on a bus wearing a black hoodie at KM 68 of the Tangerang-Merak Toll Road in Serang, Banten, the same day. Police recovered the victim's passport and one of her phones during the arrest. "At the time of the arrest... we found the victim's passport and one of the victim's handphones... the suspect admitted to committing the murder," said Panit 2 Subdit Resmob Ditreskrimum Polda Metro Jaya, Ajun Komisaris Polisi Fechy J Atupah, on March 24, 2026.
The motive was the victim's desire to end their relationship, which RFTJ refused, according to East Jakarta Metro Police Chief, Comb Pol Alfian Nurriza. "Korban ingin pisah hubungannya dengan tersangka, namun tersangka tidak mau," Alfian stated. Head of Subdit Resmob Polda Metro Jaya, AKBP Ressa Fiardi Marasabessy, confirmed: "The victim was found dead on the floor with dried blood on the floor and mattress."
