Honda étudie un embrayage simulé pour ses motos électriques

Honda examine l'utilisation d'un faux embrayage sur ses futures motos électriques afin d'offrir aux pilotes un meilleur contrôle, notamment en tout-terrain. Des schémas de brevet pour ce système ont récemment été dévoilés. L'entreprise teste actuellement ce concept sur sa moto tout-terrain CR Electric Proto.

Honda travaille depuis longtemps à simplifier le passage des vitesses sur ses motos, en commençant par les embrayages centrifuges sur des modèles comme la Super Cub C100 de 1958. Le constructeur a par la suite introduit des motos dotées d'une transmission à double embrayage et un système E-clutch permettant aux pilotes de choisir entre un fonctionnement manuel ou automatique. Désormais, le fabricant envisage un retour à un retour d'effort similaire à celui d'un embrayage pour ses modèles à batterie, sur lesquels les embrayages mécaniques traditionnels sont absents.
