Strauss Zelnick, le PDG de Take-Two Interactive, a exprimé sa profonde déception face à la durée prolongée du développement du prochain jeu BioShock, tout en précisant qu'il se sent plus optimiste quant à sa direction actuelle.

Zelnick a évoqué le projet lors d'une récente entrevue avec Game File. Il a souligné que l'équipe a eu du mal à trouver la bonne orientation créative et a gaspillé du temps et de l'argent dans des impasses qui n'ont mené nulle part. Le prochain volet est en développement chez Cloud Chamber depuis la création du studio en 2019, suite à la fermeture d'Irrational Games après BioShock Infinite.
