실탄이 실제로 분실된 것인지 장부 기록이 잘못된 것인지는 아직 명확하지 않다. 당국은 실탄이 언제 어떻게 사라졌는지, 규정 위반이 있었는지 조사할 계획이다.
법무부는 전국 교정시설에 대한 검사를 실시하고 재발 방지 대책을 마련할 예정이다.
