제주도와 제주관광공사는 제주대학교 스마트관광연구지원센터와 협력해 영어·일본어·중국어권 외국인 유학생으로 구성된 7명 규모의 모니터링 팀을 구성한다.
이달부터 시작되는 현장 점검은 해변·공항·항만·공중화장실·오름 등 관광 인프라와 주요 목적지의 영어·일본어·중국어 웹페이지를 대상으로 한다. 검사관들은 번역이 원문 맥락을 정확히 전달하는지, 공식 로마자 표기 기준과 문화 용어를 준수하는지를 평가한다.
점검 후에는 원문·오역·오류 유형·수정안을 담은 표준화 교정 매뉴얼을 발간해 지역 관광 사업자와 지자체에 배포할 계획이다.
