Xbox-CEO skizziert ehrgeizigen Wachstumsplan nach Entlassungen

Xbox-CEO Asha Sharma hat ein neues Memo veröffentlicht, in dem die Prioritäten für das künftige Wachstum nach den jüngsten Personalabbauten bei Microsoft dargelegt werden.

In einem am 30. Juli an die Belegschaft versandten Memo legte Sharma vier Hauptprioritäten für die Xbox-Sparte fest. Dazu gehören die Stärkung der Plattform mit Fokus auf Konsolen, der Ausbau von Spielen zu globalen Franchises, die Etablierung von Minecraft als weltweite Creator-Plattform sowie die Erweiterung beliebter Spielwelten.

Der Plan sieht vor, dass Xbox bis 2030 die Hälfte des langfristigen Ziels von einer Milliarde täglicher Nutzer erreicht. Aktuell zählt die Sparte 100 Millionen tägliche Nutzer. Sharma beschrieb Xbox als eines der größten Stadien der Welt und betonte, dass die Konsole weiterhin ein Flaggschiff-Erlebnis bleibe, während man gleichzeitig auf PC, Cloud und andere Plattformen expandiere.

Microsoft meldete zuletzt zweistellige Umsatzrückgänge bei Hardware sowie Spielen und Dienstleistungen. Sharma unterstrich zudem Pläne, Franchises wie Fallout über Film, Fernsehen und andere Bereiche zu monetarisieren, sowie weitere Investitionen in Titel wie Candy Crush und Minecraft.
