Le Xbox Game Pass a perdu des millions d'abonnés suite à une augmentation de 50 % de son prix à l'automne 2025. Cette admission a été faite par le directeur de la stratégie, Matthew Ball, lors d'une entrevue au Summer Game Fest.

Le service comptait environ 35 millions d'abonnés au milieu de l'année 2025. Des chiffres antérieurs faisaient état de 34 millions d'abonnés en février 2024. La hausse des prix d'octobre 2025 s'appliquait à l'abonnement Game Pass Ultimate et à la restructuration des niveaux inférieurs. La nouvelle PDG, Asha Sharma, a réduit à nouveau le prix en avril 2026, bien que celui-ci ne soit pas revenu à ses niveaux précédents. Elle a également annoncé que les futurs titres de Call of Duty ne seraient plus disponibles dès le jour de leur sortie sur le service. La perte d'abonnés a fait suite à des ajustements de prix répétés ayant débuté en 2024.
