Die FIA hat den ADUO-Mechanismus für die neuen Antriebseinheiten ab 2026 eingeführt, um dauerhafte Leistungsunterschiede zwischen den Motorenherstellern zu verhindern. Unter der überarbeiteten Gleitskala qualifizieren sich Hersteller, deren Verbrennungsmotorleistung mehr als 8 Prozent hinter dem Referenzwert liegt, nun bei Erreichen eines Rückstands von 10 Prozent für zusätzliche Vergünstigungen. Dies beinhaltet eine Ausnahmeregelung bei der Budgetobergrenze in Höhe von zusätzlich 8 Millionen US-Dollar, die nur in diesem Jahr gilt, sowie mehr Prüfstandsstunden für Entwicklungsarbeiten außerhalb des standardmäßigen Homologationsfensters.
