Helmut Marko critica novas regras da F1, mas espera soluções

O ex-consultor da Red Bull, Helmut Marko, criticou o novo regulamento de unidades de potência da Fórmula 1, apontando falhas na divisão 50:50 entre o motor de combustão interna e a potência elétrica. Helmut Marko, que deixou a Red Bull no final do ano passado, disse à ORF que o regulamento ignorou aspectos fundamentais decididos há dois anos, em meio a um esforço pela eletrificação. “Eles certamente ignoraram algumas coisas, mas as regras foram decididas em uma época em que ainda havia esperança - ou a visão - de que a eletricidade seria o único caminho”, disse Marko. Ele observou que mudanças como o retorno dos motores de combustão interna e o combustível livre de CO2 tornaram as regras obsoletas, apesar de terem atraído fabricantes como Audi, Ford e Honda, enquanto perderam a Renault. A Cadillac planeja entrar em 2029 como fornecedora integral de motores. “50:50 [motor de combustão interna e potência elétrica] soa bem no papel, mas não funciona porque a bateria precisa ser carregada. E se não houver zonas suficientes onde ela possa carregar...”, completou.
